우분투 설치 USB 만들기

Download Ubuntu ISO file

우분투 홈페이지에 가서 download 메뉴에서 ISO파일을 다운로드 받는다. server 버젼과 desktop 버젼이 있는데 UI로 된 화면이 필요한 경우는 desktop버젼을 받아야 한다. server 는 UI가 없고 콘솔만 있어서 초보자는 사용이 어렵다. 

다운로드가 완료되면 UUI(Universal USB Installer) 로 부팅 USB 를 쉽게 만들 수 있다.

Universal USB Installer aka UUI is a Live Linux USB Creator that allows you to choose from a selection of Linux Distributions to put on your USB Flash Drive. The Universal USB Installer is easy to use. Simply choose a Live Linux Distribution, the ISO file, your Flash Drive and, Click Install. Upon completion, you should have a ready to run bootable USB Flash Drive with your select operating system installed. Other features include; Persistence (if available) – note that casper persistence will only work with fat16 or fat32 formatted drives.

step1 에는 Ubuntu 를 선택하고 step2 에는 다운받아 놓은 ISO 파일을 선택한다.

Install Ubuntu 

설치 USB 가 만들어 졌으면 이제 우분투를 설치해야 한다. USB 로 설치하기 위해서는 CMOS 세팅에 들어가서 Booting Priority 를 USB 가 최우선이 되도록 설정해 놓아야 한다. CMOS 세팅 방법은 컴퓨터 마다 다르기 때문에 여기서는 생략하기로 한다.

Set Root password 

설치가 완료되면 root 의 비밀번호를 지정해 놓아야 한다. root password 를 설정하는 방법은 다음과 같다. 

1. Open up a terminal and type sudo passwd root
2. Follow the onscreen instructions to set and confirm your new password
