Total Course Length:
  • Full-time: 20 weeks
  • Part-time: 40 weeks (2 evenings and 1 Saturday per week)
Prerequisites:It is preferred that applicants hold an overseas qualification that is Australian equivalency recognised, or be in the process of gaining recognition. Applicants need to have their qualifications approved by the Overseas Qualifications Unit prior to commencing the course. They will also be required to undertake an English language proficiency test.

Overview

This course is designed for overseas trained business professionals and those trained for occupation within the information technology industry. This course focuses on developing students workplace English, communication skills and knowledge of practices in a technical and professional work environment, in Australia. A five-week practical placement is a key component of this course.  This course is offered in Melbourne City Centre and at Moorabbin, full time and part time.

Qualification & Recognition

Upon successful completion of this course, students are eligible to receive the Certificate IV in ESL (Employment).

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer

Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

Course Fees

Fees are calculated according to the level of course being studied, and the number of hours being undertaken, up to Government established maximums. Eligible students are able to access a Government Subsidised Place and certain categories of Full Fee Paying students may be able to access an Eligibility Exemption. Assistance is available in the form of VET FEE HELP or a Holmesglen Payment Plan for students who are unable to afford fee payment up front.
